Drivers on the Wakaw Lake access road will notice some improvements being done in the near future.

The road is receiving a 3 point 3 million dollar upgrade to improve access into Wakaw Lake Regional Park, with construction starting sometime this week.

The improvements will include widening the road embankment and adding base and double seal, which will lead to a stronger and smoother surface.

About ten kilometres of the road will be upgraded from the existing combination of thin membrane surface and gravel but it isn't expected to be fully complete until next summer.
