Investigators from Vancouver have arrested their Number 1 suspect in a beating during last year's Stanley Cup riot and he was in Lanigan.

15 people were listed as suspects in the beating of a good samaritan the night of the riot, and 14 of them have been arrested, but the 15th was a little more elusive.

Now, Vancouver Police have arrested 24-year-old Jonathan Stephen Mahoney, who was arrested at his workplace, a potash mine in Lanigan on Tuesday.

Mahoney will face charges of participating in a riot, assault, assault with a weapon and mischief.

Police say Mahoney was living in Vancouver at the time of the riot, but had moved to Manitoba, then back to his hometown of Conception Bay, and then to Lanigan.
