Around 2:30 yesterday (Fri) RCMP were called to the scene of an accident on Highway 11 where one of their members was hit. Police say the member involved in the accident was attending to a single vehicle rollover south of Chamberlain on Highway 11 when the collision occurred. Investigators have now determined that the southbound vehicle that struck the marked police SUV was travelling in the northbound lane when it hit the vehicle head on. The 35 year old driver was pronounced dead on scene while the 47 year old Craik Police officer remains in Regina hospital with minor injuries. He was transported by STARS Air Ambulance. There were reports to the RCMP Divisional Operatinal Comunications Centre earlier of a vehicle driving erratically, at high speeds, southbound through the community of Chamberlain.
