The goal is to create a win-win solution for industry and the University of Saskatchewan by providing a means to bring technology and research into the marketplace. And according to the managing director of the Industry Liaison Office, the U of S is having success doing it. Doctor Glen Schuler reports his office brought in 7 point 2 million dollars in licensing revenue last year, a new high. About half of those funds are redirected back to the researchers, with the rest supporting various campus programming. He says more than 90 per cent of that revenue was generated by Merial Canada, which creates and distributes a swine vaccine for Circovirus. While Schuler says they can count on that revenue stream for a few more years, their focus is on developing new ones. To that end, he says they also hit their goal of adding another 10 active licenses, bringing their total number to 45. (pb aug 5/12) Share: ![]() Tweet
