An early morning rollover on Highway 4 has claimed the lives of three people on Sunday.

Battlefords Rural RCMP responded to the single vehicle accident just after 3, to find a car partially submerged in a slough.

One of the 5 passengers was able to escape from the vehicle, while 4 others remained trapped.

The fire department used a winch to bring the vehicle closer to shore and free one of the passengers.

Both were treated for minor injuries, however the driver and two other passengers were dead on the scene.

All the victims are from the Mosquito First Nation.
