Home listings were down 4 per cent this September over last.

And, for the first time in 18 months, the number of home sales declined in August and September, however they are still up year to date 6 per cent.

Jason Yochim, the Executive Officer with the Saskatoon Region Association of Realtors doesn't blame the decline on new mortgage rules.

He figures it's more likely because of lower listings and the nice fall weather we've been having which prompted people to focus on using up vacation days instead of looking to move.

On average, it's taking about 33 days to sell a home in Saskatoon and about 63 days to sell a home in the outlying rural market. (sv oct 4-12)
