A Saskatchewan wheelchair athlete will be heading to London to compete this summer.
Saskatoons Kiera Frie, the Sask Sport June Athlete of the month, won two gold medals and four silvers at the Canadian Track and Field/Canadian Paralympic Trials in Calgary.
Due to that performance, she will represent Canada at the Paralympic Games in London this summer.
At the Coquitlam Cheetah’s 2012 Invitational on Jun 9-10, Frie won a gold medal, two silvers and a bronze.
Her main event at the Paralympic Games will be the 5,000 metres, but she is also under consideration by the coaches for the 100m, 400m, 800m, and 1,500m.
