RCMP are asking members of the public who might have information in relation to the death of Christian Bird to come forward.

Police say they got a call, back on May 1st about a man found by a passerby, about 50 feet from the shore of Sandy Lake, near the Ahtahkakoop First Nation, clinging to a piece of ice.

RCMP pulled the unresponsive 27 year old man to shore, but shortly after, Bird was pronounced dead.

Now, Shellbrook RCMP believe the death of Bird was a homicide and the investigation is continuing.
