The RM of Corman Park, based on advice from Meyers, Norris, Penny has released the results of an independent review of the operation, function and adherence to policy and procedures of the Municipality by the council and administration.

The review concludes the harassment complaint investigation against the Reeve was flawed and has resulted in significant legal and professional services costs to the RM.

The report says allegations of retaliatory actions as a result of the harassment complaint brought against the Reeve has also resulted in significant severance costs to the RM.

It goes on to say there have been apparent breaches of The Municipalities Act and the RM's Code of Ethics by the Reeve, and there's been an apparent lack of transparency in major decision making processes.

The report says the council is divided, good governance practices are not followed and bullying and dictatorial behaviour is demonstrated on both sides of a divided council.

Meyers, Norris, Penny has recommended that after the upcoming election Council undertake extensive governance facilitation and training to ensure that Council operates effectively, fairly and in accordance with The Municipalities Act and best practices.
