A last-second 42-yard field goal by Rene Parades lifted the Calgary Stampeders to a 33-31 preseason victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders Friday night. The Stamps led 7-0 after one quarter, 17-13 at halftime and 27-21 after three quarters however the Riders held the lead on three occasions including 31-30 with 0:50 to go. That came after a miraculous touchdown pass from J.T. O'Sullivan to Ismael Bamba however the lead didn't hold. Chris Getzlaf and Kory Sheets had the other Rider majors while Chris Milo had three field goals. Rene Parades was 6/6 for the Stamps. Head Coach Corey Chamblin was happy with his team's performance, even though the team lost, "We did some good things. But there were things that obviously set us back in the first half, and at the end obviously. But the thing I told the guys during half-time is: 'I want to see you guys fight back.' And we did fight back." Calgary finished the preseason at 2-0 while the Riders were 0-2. The Riders will make their final cuts over the weekend and then open the 2012 CFL season next Friday at Hamilton. (pb june 23/12)
