The construction tender for the Remai Art Gallery and its parkade is before City Council tonight (Tues).

The final design has been completed, and the 20 million dollar fundraising goal has been met.

In total, the art gallery itself will cost 71 million dollars, with the City's share being 21 million dollars, which was borrowed.

The underground parkade is expected to run at 13 point 2 million dollars, with 7 million dollars coming out of the City's Capital Reserve Fund.

In the report sent to Council tonight, it states that the Remai Art Gallery will continue the fundraising process during tendering and construction.

City Council will be appointing the Board of Directors to the Gordon Howe Sports Foundation this evening (Tues).

The Board is tasked with fundraising for upgrades to the ailing stadium.

Some of those upgrades include new turf, new change rooms, a concession, and an eight lane running track.

City Council will decide during budget deliberations this December whether to put 600 thousand dollars to the project.  The total cost is about 2 million.
