|Ontario Company Purchases SCN|

The Government of Saskatchewan has chosen an Ontario company as the new owner of Saskatchewan Communications Network.
Bluepoint Investment Corporation finalized terms of the agreement for Bluepoint's purchase of SCN assets and operations. Chairman and CEO of Bluepoint Bruce Claasen says "going forward Bluepoint is committed to maintaining the spirit and the original vision of SCN"
Bluepoint plans to continue to operate SCN as the province's educational broadcaster but at the same time plans to increase its audience and appeal to the people of Saskatchewan . It also plans to file for a change of condition of its license to broaden te programming slate and allow for the sale of advertising. The programming model its has proposed will be based on the Access Alberta model which combines community and educational programming with commercial programming that is mainly focused on prime time.
The company says it plans to spend 1.75 million dollars per year on Saskatchewan programming, and one million per year on digital programming and content.
