The City of North Battleford gave a little recognition to the federal government Monday. They're thanking them for the ongoing and regular contributions to infrastructure as a result of the federal gas tax program. The big 'thank you' comes as a new 56 million dollar Credit Union CUPlex opens its doors. City manager Jim Toye says the CUPlex is actually 4 facilities in one: a new 45 thousand square foot pool facility, a 6-sheet curling rink, 2 indoor soccer pitches and a performing arts centre. In total, Toye says the federal government has committed more than 5 point 3 million dollars to the various infrastructure projects in North Battleford, including a number of road repairs and upgrades to the water and sewer system.
