A housing initiative for seniors, operated by K.C. Charities, celebrated its official opening today (Tues). Columbian Place, which is in the 14-hundred block of 20th Street West and is part of the new Pleasant Hill Village, has 75 one and two-bedroom rental units for seniors of moderate income. The federal and provincial governments provided funding plus the City of Saskatoon supported the project with a cash grant of just over 880-thousand dollars, a 5-year incremental property tax abatement, and sold the land for the housing for a dollar.
