Police have determined a family of 6 was inside the house in the Westview neighborhood where a fatal shooting happened Wednesday morning.

Two adults were home at the time of the shooting, including the victim and a man, and four children, ranging in age from teenager to infant.

Police are still at the scene of the shooting that happened just after 6 in the 200 block of Peterson Terrace.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.

A 34 year old woman was pronounced dead in hospital after family members and neighbours reported gun shots being fired at the house in the 200 block of Peterson Terrace.
