RCMP say a 45 year old man has died from injuries he suffered sometime over the weekend on the Montreal Lake First Nation.

Early Saturday morning, Norman Casey Stamp was found lying on the side of the road in the community, he was unconscious, and he had suffered head injuries due to an assault.

The victim was taken to RUH in Saskatoon in Critical condition and succumbed to his injuries yesterday (Mon).

18 year old Leo Jackson Smith has been charged with second degree murder in connection to Stamp's death.

Anyone who may have information about this event is asked to contact the Montreal Lake RCMP or Crimestoppers.

Mounties say this incident is separate from another that happened last Friday when a 25 year old man was found lying on the highway near Montreal Lake.

He was struck by a passing vehicle and severely injured.

He has been transported to Royal University Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

A suspect vehicle has been located, and the investigation continues.
