Former Saskatoon Blade Mike Green has inked a new contract extension with the Washington Capitals.

The 26 year old Calgary product will earn 18 and a quarter million dollars over a 3-year term.

Elsewhere, Montreal locked up Blake Geoffrion, grandson of hall of famer Boom-Boom Geoffrion to a 1-year deal. And the Edmonton Oilers signed big defenseman Theo Peckham to a 1-year deal worth just over a million dollars for next season.
