A garage in Canora was heavily damaged in a police vehicle collision last weekend.

A Kamsack RCMP vehicle responding to an urgent call for assistance from a Canora RCMP member Saturday evening, (March 6th), collided with a garage, heavily damaging it and the vehicle inside, along with the police vehicle.

The police vehicle was approaching the intersection of 8th Avenue east and Highway 9 in Canora at approximately 9pm, when he lost control of the vehicle.

It slid across the road, through a snowbank, and collided with the side of the garage.

The police vehicle came to rest inside the garage and knocked the parked vehicle out the north end of the garage.

There was extensive damage to both cars and the garage.

The officer flagged down a passer-by to continue on to the original request for assistance.

Afterwards, the officer returned to the scene of the collision.

The female occupant of the home was startled but unhurt as a result of the collision.

The cause of the collision is under investigation by the RCMP.
