Justice and public safety spokespeople from across Canada are in Regina this week.

Saskatchewan Justice Minister, Gordon Wyant, says it's a great opportunity to compare notes with colleagues and to work together to strengthen our justice system.

Federal, provincial, and territorial ministers from across the country are expected to attend.

He says Saskatchewan will be bringing forward a number of concerns, including the response to missing persons, the shared provincial and federal responsibility for funding criminal legal aid, and the impact of community-based crime initiatives.

Wyant says they hope to come to a consensus on how to deal with a number of issues moving forward.

The meetings are taking place at the Hotel Saskatchewan from today (Tues) until Thursday.
