Shovels have hit the ground on the Humboldt Collegiate Institute.
The high school will be connected to the Humboldt Uniplex, which includes a hockey and curling rink, and aquatic centre.
Students and staff got a virtual look at the new building today at a presentation to celebrate the start of construction. The price tag for the entire facility is about 20 million dollars.
Humboldt Mayor Malcom Eaton says the joining of the Uniplex and high school will enhance opportunities for education and recreation, as well as cultural and social activities.
Construction should be done by next year.
