The CWB has announced the 17 winners of its annual crop-year calendar photography contest.
Taking the grand prize was Dorothy Seibold, of Stranraer, who took the winning photo of her 82-year-old husband, Lloyd, trudging through snow to check a grain bin.
The other prize winners are:
Carrie Olivier Brown of Zealandia, for her photo of moving cattle; Bonnie Potoroka of Goodeve, for her photo of swathing a grain field; Diana Dolack of Biggar, for her photo of apples coated in ice and for her photo of an ice-covered barn; and Aaron Spence of Outlook, for her photo of an old truck under a cloudy sky; Wendy Williamson of Lafleche, for her photo of a horseback rider overlooking a lake; and Courtney Kesslering of Viceroy, for her photo of a sunrise over a barn.
The CWB received more than 750 photo submissions from 170 photographers for the 2009-10 calendar under the theme, In All Kinds of Weather.
The calendar is being distributed to farmers with the current issue of Grain Matters.
