A newly twinned section of Highway 11 opened today (Wed) between Prince Albert and Saskatoon.

The new northbound lanes of Highway 11 stretch from the junction of Highway 2 south for 11 kilometres.

Ongoing construction on the highway includes grading for new northbound lanes from north of Hague to south of Rosthern.

That segment is expected to open to traffic by the fall of 2010.

Right now, 52 kilometres of the Highway 11 corridor between Saskatoon and its junction with Highway 2 south of Prince Albert is twinned.

75 kilometres remain.

Motorists should be alert when transitioning from the twinned segment to two-way traffic, and should also be aware of nearby equipment doing clean-up work.
