More student residence space will not only appeal to students throughout
Saskatchewan and across Canada, but will also help attract more international
students to the U of S.
That's a comment from U of S Vice-President Finance and Resources, Richard
Florizone as he participated in an announcement that construction has begun on
the first student residence in the College Quarter.
Florizone says the first phase of the project, which will contain housing for
4 hundred students, should help free up other rental space in Saskatoon.
Construction on the, almost 40 million dollar project, is already underway
and the first students should be able to move into the building in 2011.
The province committed 15 million dollars to the project while the City of
Saskatoon will hand over 5 hundred and 75 thousand dollars for it.
