SaskPower is taking another step towards developing one of the world's first and largest clean coal projects.
The corporation has issued a request for proposals for a steam turbine and generator for the Boundary Dam Integrated Carbon Capture and Sequestration Demonstration Project.
Seven vendors from around the world have been invited to participate in the two-stage procurement process.
The first stage will be used to identify the most promising proposals, with more detailed proposals developed during the second stage.
The successful vendor is expected to be selected by the end of 2009.
Back in July, SaskPower issued a request for proposals for carbon capture technology for the demonstration project.
Three companies have been short listed, with the final selection also due by the end of the year.
