It is the long weekend coming up and with that - gas prices are up too.

They've gone up 4 cents to 99 point 9 cents a litre in some stations.

Meantime, the Canadian Taxpayers Federation is calling for a 7 cent reduction in gas taxes.

Today(thurs) was the Federation's "Gas Tax Honesty Day".

Lee Harding, Saskatchewan Director of the Federation, was handing out rebates equal to the gas tax to a few lucky motorists filling up in Saskatoon.

Harding says the province should be competitive with our neighbours.

He says in Manitoba, gas taxes are 11 and a half cents, in Alberta they are 9 cents and here they are 15 cents.
