The Bessborough was packed with MLA's, volunteers, and Salvation Army Representatives yesterday(fri).
It was the annual Red Shield luncheon, a part of the Salvation Army's fundraising campaign. The target is to raise 1.2 million dollars this year.
Guest speaker David Dalberg was invited. He spoke on disasters and the Army's involvement.
He says when tragedies such as 9/11 or hurricane Katrina happen, people need more than just physical needs met. He says the goal of the Salvation Army is to bring hope.
Dalberg served as the National Services Director for 7 years, but has been with the Salvation army for 25.
