The Canadian Football League is off until Friday when Week 10 of the season starts with Calgary at Edmonton. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are idle until Sunday when they visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. CJWW's broadcast, a part of the "The Roughrider Radio Network", starts at 1 p.m. with the "Roughrider Warm-Up", followed at 1:30 by "Countdown to Kick-off". The play-by-play starts at 2 p.m. with post-game coverage including the "Rider Round-Up" call-in show. The Riders have 7 wins, 2 losses for 14 points...good for 1st place in the West Division. Winnipeg has 2 wins, 7 losses for 4 points...tied for 3rd place in the East Division. The Riders' next home game is Saturday, September 20th when they host the B-C Lions. Game time at Mosaic Stadium in Regina is 7:30 p.m. Tune in to CJWW following the 5 p.m. sports every weekday throughout the C-F-L season for a special "Rider Report" with Rod Pedersen, the "Voice of the Riders", on the Roughrider Radio Network.

The Prairie Football Conference is off until Saturday when Week 4 of the regular continues with the Saskatoon Hilltops hosting the Regina Thunder. Game time is 7 p.m. at Gordie Howe Bowl. The Toppers have 3 wins, 0 losses for 6 points...tied for 1st place. Regina has 1 win, 2 losses for 2 points...tied for 4th place. CJWW's broadcast starts at 6:30 p.m. with "The Hilltops Huddle" pre-game show and the play-by-play at 7 p.m.

The Canada West University Football Conference is idle until Saturday when three games are played, including the Saskatchewan Huskies visiting the Regina Rams. The Dogs won their opening game while Regina lost their first outing.

The Western Hockey League pre-season schedule is off until tomorrow. The Saskatoon Blades and Prince Albert Raiders are both idle until the weekend when they are part of the six-team Ice-Breaker Tournament at Credit Union Centre. The Blades play the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Raiders play Lethbridge on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Blades and Raiders will also open the regular season against one another with a home-and-home series. The first game is Friday, September 19th at Credit Union Centre. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The broadcast on 92-9, The Bull starts at 6:30 with "The Cutting Edge" pre-game show and the play-by-play at 7:05. The return match-up is Saturday, September 20th at Art Hauser Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m. The broadcast on 92-9, The Bull starts at 7 p.m. with the play-by-play at 7:30.
