For the second straight game, the Saskatoon Blades let a victory slip away, allowing the Calgary Hitmen to come from behind for a 4-3 overtime triumph Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Cody Sylvester's second goal of the night, with 1:14 remaining in the sudden death period, gave the home side the victory as the Bridge City Bunch couldn't hold two-goal leads of 2-0 and 3-1. Last Saturday, the Blades allowed a late third period goal to Red Deer as the Rebels escaped Credit Union Centre with a 4-3 shootout triumph. Josh Nicholls, Matej Stransky and Dalton Thrower tallied for the 36-25-3 Blades as they hold on to sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. But, Calgary, who out-shot Saskatoon 41-26, moved six points up on the Blades for fourth place...the final home-ice advantage position for the first round of the playoffs. Saskatoon's "Magic Number" to clinch a post-seasn berth is down to 3...and could be down to 1 if they win in regulation time Saturday in Red Deer. Game time is 8:30 with the broadcast on 92-9, THE BULL at 8 p.m.
