The Francis Morrison library downtown was evacuated for a short time this afternoon. A smoky smell set off the alarm in the basement where some people had been working. Assistant Fire Chief Bill Coffin says it is not uncommon for alarms to ring when repairs or construction is going on. The entire incident lasted less than 30 minutes. Share: ![]() Tweet
