It's my Parting Shot for my Weekend Short Shots.....

       My opinion hasn't changed in almost two weeks since the N-F-L Conference Championship games were played...I still think the New England Patriots are the better team than the New York football Giants. And, I still want a 13-and-3 team, who has been consistently good all season long, to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy over a Giants' team that went 9-and-7 to win their division and got hot at the right time! I don't think Lombardi's great Green Bay Packers teams from the 60s ever won a title by snaking into the post-season by the skin of their teeth...they played great all season long! I think he'd agree with me that New England wins by double digits on Sunday!

       Once again, it's the first Friday in February...the 18th in my time in Saskatoon...and I've attended one Kinsmen Sports Celebrity Dinner. It would've been two last year except I graciously turned my ticket over to young Cody Nickolet because he's a massive fan of Joe Sakic and John Elway. Still, 16 of 18 years I've been broadcasting a Saskatoon Blades' game and had to miss the dinner. I'm not complaining, just simply explaining in case anyone wants to ask if I'm going or why I wasn't there!

       The same reasoning goes for why I'm not at the Knights of Columbus Saskatchewan Indoor Games or the SaskTel provincial Men's Tankard or the SaskPower Saskatchewan Scotties or will only be at two days worth of the upcoming Tim Horton's Brier...because broadcasting Blades' hockey and Hilltops' football takes me away from home...especially on weekends...for a minimum of 100 days of the year between mid-August and late March...more depending on the Blades' playoffs. Again, I'm not complaining!
