Back in mid September an 83 year old woman was assaulted right outside the Saskatoon Police Station downtown. Police say, just before 5 o'clock on Sunday, September 16th, a 38 year old woman entered the police station shouting that she had just assaulted someone outside. Police found the elderly victim laying on the sidewalk. She has been in hospital since the attack and died this past Saturday. Police are now working in consultation with Crown Prosecutors and the Office of the Chief Coroner. However, whether any new charges will be laid will not be determined until after an autopsy is conducted later this week. The 38 year old had been arrested at the time and, while being booked into detention, allegedly kicked the officer. She currently faces charges of aggravated assault and assaulting a peace officer.
