As construction continues on a new bridge for Saskatoon another one is getting closer to coming down. The demolition of Span One of the Traffic Bridge on the east side of the river is set to start Thursday. Pier-load testing at this location was conducted over the past few weeks and modifications to the power feed that is attached to the bridge are currently underway. The demolition will take place in 3 phases with the first lasting about 8 days. It includes shoring up the site to support demolition equipment, then the asphalt surface, timber deck and salvageable bridge components will be removed. In late October the actual demolition of the steel bridge span and cleanup of the demolition site will take place. Share: ![]() Tweet
