Saskatoon has the lowest downtown vacancy rate in Canada at one point 9-1 per cent. That's despite 4 new office buildings, totalling 2 hundred and 18 thousand square feet of office space under construction. According to Colliers International, strong pre leasing activity is indicating those buildings will not provide relief to our market. Developers are recognizing the opportunities downtown and another 4 office buildings are slated to begin construction in the next quarter and so Colliers Duncan Mayer says it is expected the Saskatoon skyline will change considerably over the next couple of years. Mayer says as fast as one building can come on line, the space a company leaves in their existing building when they move fills up as companies expand the scope of their operations. For example, he says the space left by KPMG, who will move into the bulk of the new River Centre in 2013, is already in negotiations. Share: ![]() Tweet
