Robert Doucette has won his seat as President of the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan, in the first election since 2007. Unofficial election results were announced Saturday by Chief Electoral Officer Ian Craven. Doucette beat out 6 candidates for the top job. Gerald Morin was elected Vice President, while Louis Gardiner was elected Treasurer. For the office of the Secretary, the difference between votes in favour of May Henderson and Tammy Mah was less than two percent, so an application to the court will be made for a judicial recount.
