The hail claim total in Saskatchewan now sits around the 11,600 mark.

That's an increase of 2,000 since the last report two weeks ago.

The chair of the Canadian Crop Hail Association, Murray Bantle of Regina says there were a number of storms resulting in crop claims on many different dates over the past two weeks, but the most significant storms were on August 22 and August 24.

On Aug 22, there were claims from around Colonsay, Humboldt and Kenaston. Bantle says that storm seemed to be very significant and some of the damage is reported to be pretty bad.

Aug 24 there were claims are from the Coleville, Dodsland and Plenty areas as well as around Outlook, Conquest and Kenaston. The LeRoy area also saw claims and again there was damage around Kindersley, which has been hit with multiple storms this year.

Bantle says most companies were pretty much caught up with the hail claims until these last two big storm systems hit. He figures now it will be a couple of weeks before new claims can get cleaned up.
