It looks like another nail in the coffin of the idea that the Mendel Art Gallery may stay put.

The City of Saskatoon held a news conference Wednesday to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Children's Discovery Museum.

The city says with the step, the children's museum is now free to go through the extensive process involved in developing a complete business plan.

Erica Bird, President of the Board of Directors of the Children's Discovery Museum, says the M-O-U really doesn't change anything, as they would have moved ahead either way with the endorsement of City Council and the Mayor last month. And Bird has no concerns that the Remai Art Gallery of Saskatchewan will fall through, saying that the decision -- quote -- "has been made."

She's confident the Children's Discovery Museum will relocate from Market Mall and be operational in the Mendel building by the end of 2013.
