All that snow overnight is causing problems on the roads and highways this morning. Travel not recommended advisories have been posted by the Highway Hotline for all Saskatoon West area highways due to icy and slippery sections, loose, swirling, drifting snow, and reduced visibility. Those include Highways 7, 11 north, 12, 14, 16 West, and 305. Highway 16 in the North Battleford area is also under a travel not recommended advisory. Maidstone RCMP say there are sections of black ice in the area and at least 5 vehicles hit the ditch over night. They too were recommending you not travel in that part of the province. Crews are busy clearing, salting, and sanding priority 1 routes around Saskatoon Tuesday morning. Those routes include freeways, main thoroughfares like 8th and 22nd Streets, and access to fire halls and hospitals. The City of Saskatoon's snow and ice report says between 5 and 10 centimetres of the white stuff fell overnight. As for bus cancellations, a number of Prairie Spirit School Division buses are not operating this morning. None of the buses in Martensville, Vanscoy, or Asquith are operating, with a number of others cancelled or delayed on a per-route basis. The list is below: Bus #116 Moldenhauer-Clavet Bus# 265 Smith Perdue-not running am mechanical All other Buses are running. (pb feb 26/13) Share: ![]() Tweet
