An expansion at Saskatoon City Hospital will allow for the consolidation of all breast health services.

The expanded Irene and Leslie Dube Centre of Care Breast Health Centre will bring together surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, and nurses in one area, rather than contacting each other through the phone or e-mail.

Carolyn Flegg is the Medical Director at the Centre, and says the expansion will not only service people in Saskatoon, but people all across northern Saskatchewan.

She says the expansion includes clinic space, complete reconstructive services, and a multi-disciplinary team of care professionals.

The 1 point 5 million dollar expansion adds on to the current Breast Health Centre, which first opened to patients in 2006, offering diagnostic and assessment services.

The Centre began accepting referrals for the Breast Health Program at the start of October.
