An 8 year old boy from Prince Albert has died after being injured by a parade float on the weekend. RCMP say the child was on the float on Saturday in the community of Preeceville. Over the noon hour, after the parade had ended, the float was travelling slowly along when the child jumped from the trailer and was run over by the unit. Two nurses on another float immediately attended to the child. EMS also attended and transported the boy to Preeceville Hospital where he died. Police continue to investigate the circumstances. Foul play is not suspected. [gw july 9 2012]
