In making his first start in 25 games, Alex Moodie made 35 saves for his first victory since January 21st and the Saskatoon Blades out-scored the Brandon Wheat Kings 7-5. With Andrey Makarov gone for a month to play for his home country in the World Junior Championship in Russia, the 17-year-old Moodie started a game for the first time since October 5th when he was torched for seven goals in a 10-1 loss to Swift Current. Meanwhile, rookie forward Logan Harland notched two goals and defenceman Shayne Gwinner scored the winner as the Bridge City Bunch won their third straight game to remain tied for second place in the East Division and sixth spot in the Eastern Conference with Swift Current. Darren Dietz, Nathan Burns, Brenden Walker and Matthew Stransky also scored for 16-14-1 Saskatoon as they out-shot 11-18-4 Brandon 53-40. The Blades visit the Moose Jaw Warriors Wednesday with the broadcast on 92-9, THE BULL at 6:30 and play-by-play at 7 p.m.
