It was as if the Saskatoon Blades ran over Regina...then shifted into reverse and backed up over the Pats' carcass. The Bridge City Bunch followed up Saturday's 9-0 victory over the Queen City Kids at Credit Union Centre by forcing Pats' fans to wait until after the final whistle to litter the ice with stuffed animals on Family Day at the Brandt Centre as the Blades humbled Regina 7-0. Brenden Walker, Matthew Stransky and Josh Nicholls each scored twice while Shane McColgan added a power play goal for 15-14-1 Saskatoon. Andrey Makarov made 22 saves for his second shutout of the weekend and W-H-L-leading fourth of the season. It was the 19-year-old's last game with the Bridge City Bunch for about a month as he is on his way home to Russia to suit up with the host country for the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championship. The result moves the Blades into a tie for sixth place in the Eastern Conference. But, the victories came with a price as wingers Brett Stovin on Saturday and Nick Zajac on Sunday suffered Upper Body injuries that will sideline them until, at least, after the Christmas break. Saskatoon starts a four-game week Tuesday in Brandon. The broadcast on 92-9, THE BULL starts at 6:30 with play-by-play at 7 p.m.
