A 23 year old man from Regina has been killed after falling into the waterfalls in the Albas Falls Provincial Park near Seymour Arm, BC, on Tuesday.

RCMP, from Chase, were called to the area around 11:30 Tuesday morning
following a report of a man who had been fatally injured after slipping and falling into the waterfalls on the Albas River.

Witness told police the man ventured beyond a trail safety barrier and when he turned to face the others in the group in preparation for a photo he slipped on the wet rock surface and fell into the fast moving waters where he was swept away.

The victim was located by members of the group he was with but was unresponsive and their immediate efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Police say the 23 year old man was amongst a group friends on a houseboat trip.

His name hasn't been released.
