The traffic blitz on the weekend netted RCMP at least one arrest. A 42 year old Regina man was charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle after RCMP pulled a black SUV over clocked doing 134 kilometres per hour in a 60 kilometre an hour work zone. A total of 50 charges were laid against motorists in that road construction work zone as workers replaced a bridge on Highway 16 just outside of Maidstone over the long weekend. Meanwhile, today, two drivers were charged for exceeding 60 km/h when passing an emergency vehicle with their emergency lights activated. That after Emergency crews were called to a single vehicle accident near Pense on the TransCanada. Three people from out of province were in the vehicle; two men were taken to hospital and a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Traffic was also diverted for several hours today after a semi rolled near Esterhazy resulting in the semi's trailer coming to rest on its side and partially blocking the road. Saskatoon Police wrote 384 aggressive driving tickets during the long weekend traffic blitz. An additional 33 tickets were written for seatbelt and cellphone infractions while police also laid seven impaired driving charges. Share: ![]() Tweet
