Alcohol is believed to be a factor in an accident near Estevan Friday that sent 7 people to hospital.

An SUV carrying a family of five was involved in a head on collision with a car about 10 kilometres east of town on Highway 39.

All people involved were taken to hospital with their ages ranging from 2 to 56.

The highway was closed for 6 hours as a result of the investigation.
