Over 400 volunteers hit the streets on the weekend collecting donations for the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre.

More than 65-thousand pounds of food has been donated, which is down from last year's total of 99-thousand.

However, Laurie O'Connor, Executive Director of the Food Bank, says the donations themselves appear to be more high-quality and nutritious.

She reminds the public that they can donate nonperishable food anytime by using the bins at the local grocery stores or by bringing food, clothing and household supplies to their doors at 202 Avenue C South.

you can also donate online through "saskatoon food bank dot org."
