An accident involving five vehicles had Saskatoon Police busy Saturday morning.

It happened just after 1 in the morning in the 1300 block of 33rd Street, where a vehicle turned from Valens Drive onto 33rd Street and sideswiped a taxi.

The taxi then came into contact with a full sized sport utility vehicle and eventually hit a tree.

The other vehicle drove through a hedge and hit two parked cars .

The 21 year old driver of the first vehicle is in hospital with non life threatening injuries but is being investigated for impaired driving.

The four occupants of the taxi were taken to hospital for precautionary measures.
