Five 4-H members received post-secondary scholarships following the Prairieland Youth Leadership Conference on Sunday evening. Fifty young people representing 4-H clubs across the province participated in interactive leadership seminars over the weekend. The 4-H members, between the ages of 13 and 21, were judged in a number of areas to determine the scholarship recipients. First place and a $3000 scholarship was awarded to Dakota Jackson. The 21 year old from Sedley is a member of the Fillmore-Francis 4-H Beef Club. Jackson is a second year education student at the University of Regina. Makayla Rettger from Aberdeen finished second and earned a $2000 scholarship. She is a member of the Silver Shadows Light Horse Club. Braden Bernier of the Hillview Riders from Prince Albert placed third and took home a $1500 scholarship. $750 scholarships were presented to the fourth and fifth place participants. Jaden Wood-Sparrow is with the Vanscoy Multiple 4-H Club and Kyla Collins from Rosetown is with the Ridpath Light Horse 4-H Club.
